Mundane
Digital Photography, 2024 - ongoing
Contrary to popular narratives, Sex Workers do not exist in their lingerie at their place of work, thinking about and performing sex, exclusive of everything else. As it turns out, the people who choose this work are just like everyone else: mundane people who carry out mundane tasks throughout the day such as reading a book, drinking coffee, and taking out the recycling. Mundane seeks to challenge these narratives that reduce Sex Workers to their jobs, thereby foregrounding the common humanity inherent in these exoticized persons.
If you are or have been a Sex Worker and are interested in being photographed as part of the Mundane project, please feel free to reach out.
