Red Lantern

Red Lantern is a prototype of an idea that is kicking around in my head. A red lantern has historically symbolized sex work in Western culture, and that is what I am working towards here. When lit, the panels reveal a message: sex work is work, along with a red umbrella. The red umbrella is the symbol of the movement for sex workers’ rights.

The prototype of Red Lantern is made using red cardstock, red tissue paper, paste, a metal ring, and an electric tea candle.
